Investigators said a block party held on June 13, 2026, drew hundreds of people to the City of Ladonia. After the official event ended, a large number of attendees gathered at the Texoma Housing Authority on Paris Street.

According to the sheriff's office, numerous gunshots were fired into crowded areas of the housing complex, placing many people at risk.

Deputies who were already in the area responded immediately as people began fleeing the scene.

Initially, no shooting victims were located. However, authorities later learned that one person had sought treatment at a hospital outside Fannin County for a gunshot wound. The victim's injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators said numerous vehicles parked in the area were struck and damaged by gunfire.
