CASS COUNTY, Texas — A Bivins woman has been charged with murder more than six months after a shooting in Cass County claimed the life of a 39-year-old man, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2025, to a reported shooting at a residence on County Road 4342.
Upon arrival, deputies found Jeremy Scott Quada, 39, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Quada was initially transported for medical treatment and later transferred to a medical facility in Texarkana. On Dec. 9, 2025, the Cass County Sheriff's Office was notified that he had died from his injuries.
Investigators with the Cass County Sheriff's Office conducted a lengthy investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
According to authorities, evidence gathered during the investigation indicated that 40-year-old Wendy Renee Brian allegedly fired a weapon during an altercation, striking Quada.
Based on the findings of the investigation, Brian was charged with Murder, a first-degree felony.
Brian, who resides in Bivins, was taken into custody on June 10, 2026, in neighboring Harrison County.
She was booked into jail, and her bond was set at $500,000.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
