The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drowning that occurred on August 12, 2025, at the Blanchard Boat Ramp.
According to officials, the victim had been swimming with friends when she went underwater and did not resurface. Her friends located her, called 911, and began CPR under the guidance of dispatchers. Deputies continued resuscitation efforts upon arrival, which were then taken over by EMS personnel.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Scarlett Boles, was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital in Livingston, where she was later pronounced deceased.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office as part of the ongoing investigation.
