Greenville Independent School District has released its 2024–2025 Accountability Report Card, with the district receiving an overall D rating (65) from the Texas Education Agency. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joe Lopez addressed the results in a letter to families, staff, and the community, pledging transparency and a continued focus on student achievement.
The lowest ratings came from Carver Elementary (59-F), Crockett Elementary (59-F), and Greenville Middle School (59-F). Despite the failing marks, Dr. Lopez highlighted areas of progress. Greenville Middle School, for example, improved its overall score by 11 points, moving from a 48 in 2023–2024 to a 59 in 2024–2025, just one point short of a D rating. Bowie Elementary showed a 13-point increase, rising from a 66 (D) to a 79 (C), narrowly missing a B rating.
“These improvements are the result of focused efforts by our teachers, staff, students, and campus leaders—and I commend them all,” Dr. Lopez wrote. He emphasized that while official accountability ratings reflect only part of a district’s performance, Greenville ISD remains committed to long-term, sustainable academic growth.
The superintendent also noted that the district has implemented strategic systems and academic support programs designed to strengthen outcomes beyond short-term gains.
Dr. Lopez concluded by praising Greenville ISD students, educators, and programs that achieve success statewide and nationally, stating, “Together, we will keep moving forward.”
