Greenville Independent School District has announced that 21 educators have earned Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designations based on their performance during the 2023–2024 school year. The designations bring a total of $291,655 in state-funded compensation to the educators for the 2024–2025 school year.
Each teacher's designation is valid for five years. The designations were announced during surprise campus visits this week, as Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez and the Greenville ISD Board of Trustees joined a celebratory parade through district campuses to notify recipients in person.
The TIA program was established by the Texas Legislature under House Bill 3 to provide financial incentives to top-performing teachers based on classroom effectiveness. The Texas Education Agency awards designations at three levels—Recognized, Exemplary, and Master—based on teacher evaluations, student growth data, and other approved criteria.
“This is an amazing program that empowers us to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier educators,” said Greenville ISD Grant Manager and TIA Lead Latisha Miles-Britton.
The 21 designated teachers represent a range of grade levels and subject areas, including early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school education.
