Quitman Resident Arrested for DWI 2nd Following Traffic Stop

Kimberley Green

In a recent incident, Sulphur Springs Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on the evening of October 29, 2023, at around 10:20 p.m. The stop occurred in the 1300 block of South Broadway, leading to the apprehension of Kimberley Green, a 59-year-old resident of Quitman, Texas.

Upon making contact with Ms. Green, officers noted several indicators of intoxication, including the presence of alcohol odor, slurred speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes, unsteadiness, and evidence of urine on her person. Ms. Green refused to comply with Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, prompting the officers to establish probable cause that she had operated a motor vehicle on a public roadway while under the influence.

Following the determination of probable cause, Kimberley Green was taken into custody and read the DIC-24 Statutory Warning. She subsequently consented to a blood specimen draw and was transported to Christus Mother Frances to undergo the procedure. Once the blood specimen was obtained, Ms. Green was then transported to Hopkins County Jail.

Kimberley Green now faces a charge of DWI 2nd, and she remains in custody at Hopkins County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
