Motor Vehicle Accident in Commerce, TX Disrupts Traffic

Emergency services were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 224 and CR 4400 in Commerce, TX on Tuesday morning, September 17, 2023, in response to a motor vehicle accident (MVA). The incident involved a collision between a box truck and a flatbed truck, resulting in a disruption to the morning commute.

Hunt County EMS, Commerce Fire, and the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance. The impact of the collision caused the flatbed truck to lose its cattle feeder, which was located on the bed of the vehicle. This, in turn, scattered feed from the cattle feeder across Highway 224.

To ensure the safety of motorists and facilitate the cleanup process, authorities temporarily closed the affected section of Highway 224. Emergency crews diligently worked to remove the debris and restore normal traffic flow. The incident caused a temporary disruption in the area, but efforts were made to expedite the clearance of the roadway.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and further details about the incident, as well as the condition of those involved, have not been disclosed at this time.
