Greenville Police Chief Recognizes Heroes for Lifesaving Actions in Vehicle Fire

Greenville Police Chief Chris Smith recently honored the courageous actions of two citizens and two GPD officers who sprung into action during a vehicle fire, ultimately saving a life.

Officers Brown and Elia were awarded the prestigious Life Saving award for their quick response and bravery. Their prompt actions played a pivotal role in rescuing an individual from a vehicle that was moments away from being completely engulfed in flames.

In recognition of their heroic efforts, Mr. Riggs and Mr. Ross were presented with the Citizens Certificate of Merit. Their assistance was crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual involved in the incident.

The Greenville Police Department expressed its gratitude in a Facebook post, stating, "Thank you to everyone involved for helping save this life and being upstanding individuals. Our officers and citizens are the best around!"
