On October 14, 2023, at approximately 9:53 a.m., a collision occurred in the 1600 block of North Joe Ramsey Boulevard, near Delano Street. The Greenville Police Department received a report of the incident, which involved a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger car.
Emergency personnel, including the police and first responders, arrived at the scene to offer medical assistance, manage traffic, and conduct an investigation. Despite their life-saving efforts, the operator of the passenger car, identified as Charlotte Igwe of Wolfe City, could not be revived and was subsequently pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Kerry Crews, who conducted an inquest into the matter. Charlotte Igwe's next of kin were notified, and an autopsy was ordered.

Simultaneously, the commercial motor vehicle, which was transporting a load of crushed concrete, was heading northbound. The passenger car veered into the northbound lane of traffic, resulting in a collision.
The operator of the commercial motor vehicle made an attempt to avoid the collision through evasive maneuvers, but unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful.
