A 22-year-old Sulphur Springs resident, Joseph Baxley, was arrested on the evening of October 10, 2023, after an incident involving his parents led to his aggressive behavior. The Sulphur Springs Police Department received a report around 5:30 pm about Baxley throwing things at his parents at their residence on Jackson St.
Upon arriving at the scene, a police officer found Baxley standing in the doorway, shouting profanities and sweating profusely. Despite repeated warnings to stop, Baxley continued his aggressive behavior, directing vulgar language towards his parents and throwing items within the residence.
In response to his actions, Baxley was taken into custody by the responding officer. He was subsequently transported to Hopkins County Jail and booked on the charge of disorderly conduct due to the use of vulgar language.
