At approximately 9:45 pm on the evening of October 9, 2023, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a defective high mount brake light on Highway 11 West. Deputies requested to search the vehicle, but the driver, identified as Rhonda Milam, denied consent.
A K9 Deputy responded to the scene. Deputies retrieved a green leafy substance wrapped in a tobacco leaf, believed to be marijuana. Milam was placed under arrest and transported to Hopkins County Jail.
64-year-old Rhonda Milam of Cumby, Texas was booked into the Hopkins County Jail and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
