Greenville Police Department Processing Loss of Former Assistant Police Chief William Cole

Former Assistant Chief William Cole

The Greenville Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.  Former Assistant Chief William Cole passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.

Cole gave the City of Greenville 35 years of dedicated service, which included time as the Interim Chief of Police, Assistant Chief, Patrol Captain, Patrol Lieutenant, Criminal Investigations Division Lieutenant, and Commander of the ERT and TAC teams. He was a highly decorated officer who earned every bar and stripe he was given. He always made an effort to be involved in the community and make everyone in Greenville feel safe and taken care of.

Funeral arrangements

Visitation: Friday, March 24th, 5:00pm-7:00pm at Coker Mathews Funeral Home

Funeral: Saturday, March 25th, 10:00am at Family Fellowship
