Suspected Cattle Rustler Faces New Charges; Arrests Made in Hopkins County on Oct 1

Jacob Thompson, the 36-year-old man previously convicted of Cattle Rustling in Hopkins County, found himself in legal trouble once again. Sallisaw, Oklahoma officials arrested Thompson for violating his parole by stealing livestock valued between $100,000 and $200,000. Allegedly, he attempted to purchase 400 head of cattle from the Sulphur Springs Livestock Auction using bad checks totaling over $300,000.

In a separate incident, Hopkins County Deputies apprehended Xavier James Black, a 17-year-old from Cumby, in Commerce. Black was detained on a Hopkins County warrant related to Invasive Visual Recording. He was transported back to the Hopkins County Jail, where his bond has been set at $100,000.

Another arrest was made in Sulphur Springs where Corey Gene Edwards, a 32-year-old resident of Como, was taken into custody. Edwards was accused of assaulting his 13-year-old son at a Broadway Street motel. Law enforcement charged him with Injury to a Child and several misdemeanors. No further details regarding the incident were provided.

Additionally, Chance Parker Wilson was arrested for violating his probation related to Assault of a family or household member by Impeding Breath of Circulation. Hopkins County law enforcement continues to uphold the law, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
