Royse City Police Investigate String of Burglaries in New Construction Homes

The Royse City Police Department is actively investigating a series of burglaries that have occurred in the city this week. Five reports were filed by home builders, indicating a concerning trend in thefts targeting new, unoccupied homes under construction.

Burglars have been specifically targeting breaker boxes and circuit breakers installed in these newly constructed residences.

Of the five incidents reported, four homes were left unsecured, providing easy access for the burglars. In the fifth case, the perpetrator forcibly entered the residence by kicking in a back door.

In response to these incidents, the Royse City Police Department has stepped up efforts to address the issue. Increased patrols have been deployed in construction areas across the city to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety and security of residents.

Authorities are urging residents residing in neighborhoods with new construction to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
