Sulphur Spring Woman Arrested for Possession of Over 20 Grams of Meth

Late in the evening on September 26, 2023, the Sulphur Springs Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Broadway St. During the stop, officers engaged with both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Ashton Odell.

Upon receiving consent from the driver, law enforcement officers proceeded to search the vehicle. During the search, officers discovered a black bag containing drug paraphernalia and four clear plastic baggies, each containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Ashton Odell took responsibility for the illegal substances, leading to her immediate arrest. Following the arrest, she was transported to the Hopkins County Jail. Subsequently, the methamphetamine was weighed, and it was found to have a combined weight of 20.04 grams, including its packaging.

Ashton Elizabeth Odell, a 35-year-old resident of Sulphur Springs, Texas, has been booked into the Hopkins County Jail on the following charge: POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PG 1/B >=4G < 200 G.
