On Friday, around 2:00 P.M., Sulphur Springs Police Sergeant Mayes responded to a call from Wal-Mart regarding an individual who had been detained by Asset Protection for stealing.
Sgt. Mayes met with the Asset Protection team who informed him that the suspect, Kendall Parks, had scanned some items but deliberately skipped scanning others. Parks then proceeded to place both scanned and non-scanned items into bags. In response, Wal-Mart froze the register and instructed her to rescan the items. However, Parks failed to comply and continued to skip scanning additional items. Eventually, at the final point of sale, Asset Protection apprehended Parks and recovered the stolen goods. The approximate value of the stolen merchandise is $206.37.
Kendall Nicole Parks, a 29-year-old resident of Sulphur Springs was arrested and booked into Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of theft involving property valued between $100 and $750.
