Caddo Mills Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

A tragic car crash on the night of September 12, 2023, has left one person dead, according to the preliminary investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers.

The incident occurred on F.M. 36 near Cr2720, as a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 30-year-old Christian Rios-Escobedo of Caddo Mills, was traveling southbound. Initial findings suggest that Rios-Escobedo failed to maintain control of the vehicle within a single lane, veering off the roadway and colliding with an unimproved portion, causing the Silverado to overturn.

A Hunt County Sheriff's Deputy came upon the crash and, with the assistance of other passing motorists, made efforts to render aid to Rios-Escobedo, who was trapped inside the vehicle at the time of their arrival. Unfortunately, it was determined that Rios-Escobedo was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Shortly after, the Caddo Mills Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene to perform the extraction.

Despite the best efforts of first responders and medical personnel, Mr. Christian Rios-Escobedo was pronounced deceased at the scene by Hunt County Justice of the Peace Money.
