Camp County Sheriff's Office Makes Four Arrests in Major Drug Bust

The Camp County Sheriff's Office made several arrests recently in connection with drug-related charges and the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

Four individuals, identified as Troy Joe Anderton (52 years old) of Mount Pleasant, Brendan Ray Allen Anderson (31 years old) of Pittsburg, Eddie Charles Fletcher Jr. (45 years old) of Longview, and Devontae Ladre Jeffery (31 years old) of Mount Pleasant, were arrested and charged with Manufacture-Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 4 < 200 grams, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

The arrests followed a call received by dispatch on September 8th, around 11:30 p.m., reporting an incident involving four men inside a residence where shots had been fired. Deputies Hunter Lawrence and Andrew Cox from the Camp County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene, located off FM 1521. Upon their arrival, they observed a pickup truck with multiple occupants outside the residence.

Devontae Ladre Jeffery, the driver of the vehicle, cooperated with law enforcement officers, exiting the truck with his hands raised, according to Sheriff John Cortelyou. Additional assistance from Pittsburg officer Kyle Shelton was called in as backup, and the other occupants were detained due to the nature of the call.

Sheriff Cortelyou and Investigator Tim Hall also responded to the scene. A probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the discovery of multiple small clear baggies and multiple cell phones in addition to approximately 106 grams of suspected methamphetamine. These findings suggested an organized criminal operation involved in the production, distribution, and sale of illegal drugs, as noted by Sheriff Cortelyou.

All four individuals arrested in connection with this incident are currently held in the Camp County Jail, each under a $100,000 bond, with $50,000 assigned to each of the charges they are facing.
