On July 1, 2025, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office recovered suspected methamphetamine, body armor, reported stolen property, and 50 firearms during an ongoing criminal investigation.

Investigators were led to an address in the 1600 block of East Main Street in Henderson, Texas, where 36 firearms were located. These weapons were later determined to have been moved from a residence at 8100 County Road 334 in Henderson.

Following the discovery, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the County Road 334 address, issued by Rusk County Court at Law Judge Chad Dean. During the search, deputies seized suspected methamphetamine, a reported stolen cargo trailer, body armor, and 14 additional firearms.

On July 2, 2025, arrest warrants were issued and served on 37-year-old Bobby Blake Prior of Henderson. He is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, Felony Theft, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Body Armor by a Felon. Prior is being held at the Rusk County Jail on $55,000 bond set by Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Shannon Burkley.

The arrests and seizures are part of the Sheriff’s Office initiative SPRINT (Sheriff’s Proactive Response to Infrastructure Crime, Narcotics, and Theft). The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
