Authorities in Hopkins County have arrested and booked three dangerous individuals on separate charges.
Steven Lynn Culbertson, aged 66, was arrested and charged with three counts of Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact. Culbertson's arrest took place during the Labor Day weekend, and his bond has been set at $225,000.

On September 6, 2023, Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies and Cumby Police officers were attempting to locate an individual, Charles Battles, in regards to a welfare concern for a possibly suicidal subject. Shortly after dispatch, a Cumby Police officer observed Battles traveling at a high rate speed down the I-30 North frontage road at the FM 499 overpass on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens and eventually caught up to Battles on I-30 Westbound near the 110 mile marker. Battles then began to intentionally and knowingly flee from law enforcement. Eventually, Battles took the 101 exit of I-30 Westbound, came to a stop, and was taken into custody without further incident.
Charles L Battles, 39, of Allen, was booked into Hopkins County Jail on the charge of evading arrest.

On August 31, 2023, James Douglas Tolley, a resident of Como, was arrested for charges related to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Assault of a Child. A Hopkins County Justice of the Peace set Tolley's bond at $200,000, and he currently remains incarcerated in the Hopkins County jail.
All three individuals are now in the custody of the Hopkins County Jail, awaiting legal proceedings.
