Driver Rescued via Helicopter After Heat Stroke at Hunt County Raceway

A rescue operation unfolded yesterday at the Hunt County Raceway on FM1903 when a driver suffered a heat stroke during a racing event. The Cash Fire Department and AMR Hunt County sprung into action, requesting a helicopter for a medical fly-out to ensure the swift transportation of the injured driver.

At 11:58 AM, Cash Fire and AMR Hunt County issued a request for a helicopter to facilitate a medical evacuation from the raceway. Responding promptly to the distress call, PHI Med 2 was inbound and arrived at the scene by midnight.

The situation took a tense turn as PHI Med 2 entered orbit to find a suitable landing site. By 12:24 AM, the helicopter was positioned and preparing to land, ensuring that the medical team could provide immediate assistance to the driver.

However, at 12:26 AM, a decision was made to change the landing zone to the Cash Fire Department for safety reasons.

The injured driver was airlifted to a Level One Trauma Center located in Plano.
