GREENVILLE, Texas - Families will have a chance to climb aboard utility equipment and even take a bucket truck ride when GEUS celebrates Public Power Week with a free Touch-a-Truck event in Greenville.
The community event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center, 5501 U.S. Highway 69 South.
GEUS will bring out equipment and vehicles used by crews to power and serve the Greenville community, giving children and adults an opportunity to see the vehicles up close and learn more about their everyday use.
One of the featured activities will be bucket truck rides, allowing participants to experience the elevated view lineworkers have while working on the city's electric system.
The event is part of Public Power Week, an annual observance highlighting community-owned electric utilities and the employees who operate them.
Admission is free, and the event is open to families and the community.
