CELESTE, Texas. One person was airlifted to a Level I trauma center Thursday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash that left one occupant trapped inside a vehicle at a Hunt County intersection, according to the Celeste Volunteer Fire Department.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 9 to the intersection of FM 903 and U.S. Highway 69 for a motor vehicle crash involving multiple vehicles.

Celeste Volunteer Fire Rescue Station 23 and Hunt County AMR responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Celeste Command 123 reported finding three heavily damaged vehicles with one person trapped inside.

Because of the severity of the crash, Air Evac Lifeteam 67 from Greenville and Wolfe City Fire Rescue Station 10 were requested to assist with the response.

Firefighters worked to safely extricate the trapped patient, who was later airlifted to a Level I trauma center in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for treatment.

Hunt County AMR evaluated two additional patients at the scene. One of those patients was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation.
