Hopkins County Hospital District Race Heads to Runoff After May 2 Election

HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas — No candidate secured a majority in the race for Hopkins County Hospital District Director, At Large, setting up a likely runoff following the May 2 election.

Tanner Ragan led the field with 876 votes (19.33%), followed closely by Jaime Mitchell with 849 votes (18.74%).

The remaining candidates finished as follows:

  • Jennifer McCoy: 408 votes (9.00%)
  • Sharla Tanton Campbell: 772 votes (17.04%)
  • Robin Boshears: 629 votes (13.88%)
  • Rosario Mejia: 297 votes (6.55%)
  • Chris Brown: 700 votes (15.45%)

With no candidate receiving more than 50% of the vote, the top two vote-getters — Ragan and Mitchell — are expected to advance to a runoff election. Election officials will announce the runoff date following certification of results.
