The 18-year-old Hopkins County man lost his life in a single vehicle crash during the early hours of August 4, 2023 was identified as Ethan Chambers.
Chambers was behind the wheel of the vehicle when the accident took place. According to preliminary reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Chambers' vehicle veered off the road, ultimately colliding with a culvert and a tree after going into a ditch. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in catastrophic damage to the vehicle.
Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The passenger who was accompanying Chambers at the time of the crash sustained a broken wrist and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
Ethan Chambers had recently graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in the class of 2023, marking a milestone achievement in his young life.
Funeral will take place at West Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2023, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
