Late Night Dramatic Rescue of Runaway Teen in Sulphur Springs

In a late-night operation, Sulphur Springs Police Department (SSPD) officers successfully intercepted a runaway teen who was headed down Interstate 30 towards Texarkana. The incident unfolded when dispatch received a distress call from Anna, TX, reporting a runaway on a bus, prompting an urgent response from law enforcement.

With limited information and uncertain about the accuracy of the bus's location, several SSPD officers raced to I-30, hoping to halt the vehicle before it reached its destination. Determined to bring the runaway to safety, authorities worked tirelessly to coordinate efforts and ensure the teenager's well-being.

Meanwhile, a Hopkins County Deputy, involved in a separate arrest situation, came across valuable information about the runaway bus. Quick-thinking and acting responsibly, the deputy contacted dispatch and informed them of the bus's whereabouts. Upon learning the bus was stopped at 7 Star, the officer immediately relayed this critical information to the SSPD.

Responding swiftly, the SSPD officers diverted their route towards the given location, intercepting the bus just as it was about to leave. They acted with precision, boarding the vehicle, and successfully locating the runaway teenager. With the situation now under control, the officers ensured the teen's safety and took him to the SSPD headquarters to await the arrival of his concerned family members.
