COMMERCE, Texas - A multi-agency narcotics investigation within the City of Commerce led to the execution of a search warrant and the arrest of two individuals Friday morning, February 20th, on Booker Street.
The Commerce Police Department, along with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, and Greenville Police Department, has been conducting ongoing narcotics-related investigations in the area. One of those investigations culminated in officers serving a search warrant at a residence on Booker Street.
During the search, officers located considerable evidence consistent with the distribution of narcotics, including suspected illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency.
Marsalia Smith and Rebecca Dumas were taken into custody at the scene on various charges.
Smith is facing charges of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams, as well as Possession of Marijuana greater than 2 ounces but less than 4 ounces in a drug-free zone.
Dumas is currently facing a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The investigation remains ongoing.
