Greenville, TX – A 31-year-old Greenville resident was taken into custody Monday morning after authorities executed an arrest warrant related to allegations of possessing child pornography.
At approximately 10:23 a.m. on January 26, 2026, Greenville Police Department officers arrived at the 2900 block of Terrell Road and arrested Marvin Augusto Iguardia without incident. According to booking records from the Hunt County Jail, Iguardia faces two felony counts of possession of child pornography stemming from an alleged incident on June 3, 2025.
The charges include:
- Possession of Child Pornography (10 to 50 visual depictions) – classified as a second-degree felony under Texas Penal Code § 43.26.
- Possession of Child Pornography (50 or more depictions or video) – classified as a first-degree felony.
The investigation reportedly began due to Iguardia's suspected online activity that came to the attention of law enforcement. In Texas, possession of child pornography is treated severely, with penalties escalating based on the quantity and nature of the material involved. The charge involving 10 to 50 depictions carries a potential sentence of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. The more serious count, involving 50 or more depictions or at least one video, is punishable by 5 to 99 years or life imprisonment, along with a similar fine.
These offenses are designated as "3G" crimes under Texas law, meaning that if convicted, the defendant is ineligible for judge-ordered probation and must serve at least half of any imposed sentence before parole eligibility. A conviction would also require lifetime registration as a sex offender.
Iguardia remains in custody at the Hunt County Detention Center, where his total bond has been set at $600,000.
Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation or the specific evidence involved. The case underscores ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to monitor and address online exploitation of children.
