Speeding Jeep Crash Claims Life of 35-Year-Old Driver from Royse City

At approximately 10:14 pm, emergency services including the Hunt County Sheriff's Dispatch, Texas Department of Public Safety Dispatch, and AMR Hunt County Dispatch received notifications about the accident at the intersection of SH. 34 and FM. 3427.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the sole occupant of the vehicle as 35-year-old Gustavo Ramirez of Royse City.

Upon receiving the distress call, a swift response was mounted as Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies, DPS Troopers, Wolfe City Fire, Celeste Rescue, and an AMR Hunt County Ambulance rushed to the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted by DPS Troopers, it was revealed that a 2009 Jeep Compass was traveling eastbound on F.M. 3427 at an unsafe speed. Tragically, Ramirez disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of S.H. 34.

The Jeep continued across S.H. 34, leaving the pavement and eventually striking a pipe fence. The impact caused the vehicle to overcorrect, leading to the ejection of Gustavo Ramirez from the Jeep Compass.

Disturbingly, it was revealed that Ramirez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Despite the efforts of the responding emergency personnel, Gustavo Ramirez was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Hunt County Justice of the Peace.
