A devastating car accident occurred on July 30th around 2:09 PM when a 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by Stephen Sherman, a resident of Pickton, was traveling Northbound on FM 269, approximately 3 miles South of Pickton.
According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports from law enforcement, the vehicle suddenly veered off the roadway, striking a culvert with significant force, causing the truck to roll over multiple times before coming to a rest in a ditch.
As a result of the violent collision, Stephen Sherman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to save Mr. Sherman's life. He was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.
