Royse City Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Robbery Suspect

UPDATE AUG 1, 2023:  Royse City Police says that the suspect has been identified and a warrant issued.

The Royse City Police Department is urging the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at approximately 2:45 pm in the parking lot of the Texaco gas station.

According to the report, a female victim was approached by the suspect, who was wearing a medical mask, as she was exiting the Texaco gas station. The suspect allegedly demanded money from the victim before entering her vehicle and stealing cash from her purse. After the robbery, the suspect quickly drove away, stopping briefly at the nearby Shell Gas Station before leaving the area.

Authorities have released a description of the suspect to aid in the investigation. The subject is described as a young, Hispanic male approximately 5'10" in height. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sandals.

Additionally, the suspect was driving an older model maroon Chevy Tahoe equipped with distinctive black/chrome custom wheels.

The Royse City Police Department is appealing to anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect to come forward. They urge potential witnesses or individuals who may have seen the suspect or the maroon Chevy Tahoe around the time of the incident to contact them at 972-636-9422.
