GREENVILLE, TX – On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at approximately 9:36 p.m., Greenville Police officers responded to a disturbance involving an intoxicated male.
Upon arrival, officers encountered 30-year-old Joel Castro of Greenville. The situation escalated during attempts to take Castro into custody, resulting in a violent confrontation. Officers were ultimately able to handcuff him and transport him to the Hunt County Detention Center.
Castro faces multiple charges, including Public Intoxication, four counts of Assault of a Public Servant, Interfering with Public Duties, Resisting Arrest, and four counts of Obstruction or Retaliation. His total bond was set at $86,500.
Authorities emphasize that incidents of this nature are taken seriously and that public safety remains the top priority.
