Quinlan Fire Engine Rolls in Accident; Two Firefighters Injured

UPDATE - Sept 11th:  Both firefighters have been released from the hospital.  According to the Quinlan FD, they have a long road of recovery ahread of them, but are expected to make a full recovery.

QUINLAN, TX – Two Quinlan firefighters were injured Tuesday afternoon when their fire engine rolled while responding to a call, officials said.

On September 9, 2025, around 1:05 p.m., Quinlan Fire Department’s Engine 62, with two firefighters aboard, was en route to a fire investigation off FM-36. While rounding a corner, the driver lost control, causing the engine to roll an unknown number of times.

The driver was flown by AirEvac to a nearby hospital, while the passenger was transported by ground ambulance. Both are reported to be in stable condition.

Quinlan FD expressed gratitude to assisting agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, South Hunt County Fire Department, Union Valley Fire Department, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, AMR, Hawk Cove Police Department, and AirEvac, for their quick response and support.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
