Royse City, TX – On Thursday, September 4, 2025, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Royse City Police detained a 14-year-old student at Royse City High School on charges of Terroristic Threat.
Authorities say the student threatened to harm a teacher during class. No physical violence occurred, and no weapon was found at the time of the incident. The student was immediately detained by School Security and School Resource Officers. While in custody, the student allegedly made an additional threat directed at the overall security of the school.
The student has been charged with two counts of Terroristic Threat, both Class A Misdemeanors, and was transported to a juvenile detention facility.
Police and Royse City ISD administrators emphasized that the safety of students and staff remains their top priority. Officials also urged parents to discuss the seriousness of making threats with their children, stressing that even comments made in jest can result in criminal charges.
