On July 25, 2023, during the 8:00 pm hour, emergency responders from various agencies including the Hopkins County Fire Department, Hopkins County Sheriff's Office in Texas, Hopkins County EMS, Arbala Volunteer Fire Department, and Sulphur Springs FD, were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover incident on Highway 19 South at the city limits.
Upon arrival at the scene, the units found a vehicle off the roadway, leaning against a power pole. Rescue operations began immediately to extract the occupant from the vehicle. Following the successful extrication, a decision was made to cancel the request for a helicopter, and the injured person was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
As a result of the accident, a power pole was partially broken, prompting the authorities to contact Oncor, a utility company, for assistance.
