A series of unpaid bar tabs and intoxication have landed Michael Duane Kelley in legal trouble, resulting in multiple charges and subsequent arrests within a 24-hour period.

On July 22, 2023, the Sulphur Springs Police Department (SSPD) received a call from Redneck Bar and Grill, reporting an incident involving Mr. Kelley. Upon arrival, officers made contact with both Mr. Kelley and the establishment's owner and general manager. The owner and manager alleged that Mr. Kelley had failed to settle his tab and requested the authorities to pursue criminal charges.

Mr. Kelley stated that he didn't have his debt/credit card on him to pay for his outstanding bill. As officers dealt with the situation, they were informed by the manager of Los Mochis, another local establishment, that Mr. Kelley had recently walked out on his tab there as well.

With this additional information, the officers decided to take action. Mr. Kelley was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody on charges related to his failure to pay his bar tabs at both establishments.

However, this was not Mr. Kelley's first run-in with the law on the matter of public intoxication and unpaid bills. The previous day, on July 21, 2023, he was arrested at Romas Italian after SSPD received a call reporting his intoxicated state and his refusal to pay for the alcoholic beverages and food he had consumed.

During the encounter, officers noticed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, swaying, and a lack of balance while walking. Furthermore, they observed that Mr. Kelley's shorts were wet and smelled of urine, indicating his dangerous level of intoxication.

Considering the potential threat Mr. Kelley posed to himself and others, he was arrested and taken to Hopkins County Jail following the incident at Romas Italian.

As a result of these back-to-back incidents, Mr. Michael Kelley faces a series of charges, including multiple counts of theft for walking out on bar tabs, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
