The Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force has been active over the past month, recovering numerous stolen vehicles, firearms, and equipment, and making several arrests in connection with various theft incidents.
During recent automotive repair shop inspections in Grayson County, detectives discovered a "chopped up" stolen 2018 Ram 4500 being dismantled for parts. At a separate shop, a Mule UTV reported stolen in 2005 was located.
Throughout the month, the region saw numerous vehicle burglaries and thefts. Task Force Detectives assisted Paris Police Officers in recovering these stolen vehicles, along with several stolen firearms. Multiple juveniles and adults have been arrested by Task Force Detectives on felony and misdemeanor charges related to these incidents.
In a separate investigation, Task Force Detectives were informed of numerous thefts involving trailers and equipment from a residence. This led to the recovery of several stolen trailers and a Caterpillar Skid Steer, with the investigation still ongoing.
Additionally, detectives were called to a local dealership to investigate a suspicious vehicle, identifying a 2020 GMC Denali as "VIN Swapped." The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Harris County in early 2025 and had been sold on Facebook Marketplace to an unsuspecting buyer.
