The Royse City Police Department held a brief ceremony today to raise one of the final support beams for the structure of their new police department. The beam, which had been painted white over the last week, was signed by members of the department, city management, city council, and community members. Personal notes, verses, and quotes were left as a symbolic way for individuals to be a part of the future facility. The beam found its place in what will become the community/training room, allowing everyone involved to literally leave their mark on the building. The completion of the new police department is eagerly anticipated, with plans to invite the community for a tour once the project is finished next year.
