UPDATE: Officers have identified the individual causing havoc as Heston O’Neal Perry, 40, of Sulphur Springs. Per Officers’ observations, Perry appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic and a danger to himself or others. Perry was taken into custody and assisted to a patrol unit for transport to Hopkins County Jail.
In a truly strange turn of events, the Sulphur Springs Police Department responded to a distress call reporting a break-in at a local residence. The caller alleged that a known individual had forcibly entered her home, pepper sprayed her, and shockingly, made off with her teeth. The incident left both the victim and law enforcement bewildered.
According to reports from the scene, the suspect managed to escape in an unknown direction before authorities arrived. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was left shocked and understandably traumatized by the ordeal. It appears that the sole item of interest to the perpetrator was the victim's teeth, as no other belongings were reported missing.
In a strange twist, the same individual involved in the earlier break-in was spotted later on the service road in front of Wendy's restaurant. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect standing in the middle of traffic, removing items of clothing. Concerned citizens quickly contacted the authorities, fearing for the individual's safety.
Responding promptly, the Sulphur Springs Police arrived at the scene and escorted the individual away from the busy roadway. Recognizing the potential danger posed to both the suspect and motorists, the police took him into custody for his own well-being. It is unclear at this time whether the suspect was under the influence of any substances or suffering from a mental health condition.
