On July 3, 2023, Hopkins County Sheriff's Office Texas deputies and investigators were alerted to the theft of a four-wheeler from a property on CR 1174. After diligently following multiple leads, law enforcement officers successfully located the suspect and recovered the stolen vehicle.

Following credible tips and witness testimonies, deputies were led to Charles Yarbrough, a 17-year-old resident of Sulphur Springs, who had been identified as a person of interest in the case. On the evening of July 6, 2023, deputies and investigators apprehended Yarbrough and read him his rights. Surprisingly, Yarbrough expressed his willingness to cooperate and requested to speak with the authorities.

During the subsequent conversation, Yarbrough admitted to stealing the four-wheeler and voluntarily agreed to disclose its hidden location. With Yarbrough now in custody, deputies accompanied him to the spot where he had stashed the stolen property. The stolen four-wheeler was successfully recovered and subsequently transported to the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office for safekeeping.

Following the recovery of the stolen vehicle, Charles Yarbrough was promptly booked into the Hopkins County Jail on the charge of Theft of Property, with a value exceeding $2,500 but less than $30,000. To secure his release, Yarbrough's bond was set at $15,000.
