On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Greenville Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Robinson Street following reports of a shooting. They were also informed that the suspect was still at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located a 62-year-old male standing between two vehicles. He was identified as the shooter. They also found a 36-year-old male lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg. The older male sustained a laceration on the bridge of his nose. No other injuries were reported.
The 62-year-old suspect, identified as Alan Wade Belk of Royse City, was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault involving Family Violence. His bond has been set at $250,000. He posted bail on Sunday.
The 36-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The relationship between suspect and victim has not been revealed.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
