The Mount Vernon Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a series of thefts and forgeries that occurred at Tom Scott Lumber. The incidents took place on June 23 and June 27, 2023, and involved the purchase of items using fraudulent checks.
According to the employees at Tom Scott Lumber, an unidentified African American male (B/M) made several purchases with a fraudulent check on three separate occasions within a two-day period. The suspect was captured on video surveillance during the transactions. The footage revealed that he acquired various items, including an ECHO Blower 79.9cc, an ECHO Trimmer, and several smaller items.
The video footage also provided crucial information about the suspect's vehicle. He was seen driving a silver Mitsubishi Galant that exhibited damage on the driver side and rear quarter panel. Additionally, the suspect was accompanied by an African American female (B/F) passenger.
