On January 18, 2025, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office received a report of cattle theft from a local rancher. Sgt. Josh Davis and Deputy Marlow responded to the scene and took the initial report, launching an investigation into the theft of more than 95 head of cattle.

Some of the cattle were traced to buyers outside Hopkins County. Efforts are ongoing to locate and recover the remaining livestock.

  • Gabriel Junior Gomez-Tapia, 20, arrested January 21
  • Adrian Barajas, 19, arrested January 21
  • Ricardo Munoz, 19, arrested January 22
  • Jeremy Gomez-Tapia, 18, arrested January 22

All four are being held at the Hopkins County Jail with bonds set at $200,000 each. The investigation continues as officials work to recover the remaining cattle.
