Greenville Man Arrested After Tampering with Ignition Interlock Device Causes DWI Bond Violation

On Tuesday, January 21, a Greenville Police officer conducted a traffic stop for a violation, leading to the arrest of Rodrigo Hernandez-Pena.

Hernandez-Pena was found to have an active warrant for violating bond conditions related to an April 13, 2024, DWI arrest. He also had an outstanding warrant from Collin County for a prior DWI.

Records show Hernandez-Pena was incarcerated for three months following his April arrest and was released on July 25, 2024. The bond violation was tied to tampering with an ignition interlock device, which is designed to measure breath alcohol levels before allowing vehicle operation.

Hernandez-Pena’s bond has been set at $15,000.
