In the early hours of July 5, 2023, Sheena Nicole Jaco, a 36-year-old resident of Sulphur Springs, was arrested by officers from the Sulphur Springs Police Department (SSPD) for public intoxication. The incident took place at 1 Veterans Drive, also known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) building.

At approximately 12:43 am, SSPD officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious individual at the VFW. Upon arriving at the scene, they encountered Sheena Jaco, who displayed visible signs of impairment. Officers noted that Jaco was unsteady on her feet, had glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and emitted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.

Concerned about her condition and the potential risk she posed to herself and others, the officers conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) to determine Jaco's level of intoxication. However, she was unable to perform the test, further confirming the suspicion of intoxication.

Based on the officers' observations and the results of the SFST, it was concluded that Sheena Jaco was intoxicated to a degree that posed a danger to herself or others while in a public place. Subsequently, she was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.

Sheena Jaco has been charged with one count of Public Intoxication, a misdemeanor offense.
