On Thursday, November 7th, a Hopkins County deputy was involved in the search for a 16-year-old male juvenile who had run away from an adjoining County. The juvenile was located on Co Rd 3539 in the Saltillo area (Hunt County) with an adult woman, 26-year-old Danielle Denise Welch of Saltillo. During the investigation, the juvenile's mother accused Welch of having engaged in sexual relations with her son.
Welch voluntarily appeared at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office. During the visit, she was read her Miranda rights, which she confirmed both verbally and by signing an acknowledgment.
In the interview, Welch confessed to having had sexual intercourse with the juvenile on several occasions at a specified location in Hopkins County. As a result, she was taken into custody at the Hopkins County Detention Center. She has been charged with Sexual Assault of a Child (a 2nd degree felony).
