The Greenville Police Department has recently wrapped up its highly anticipated Kids Camp, a week-long event aimed at educating children on various safety topics. The camp, held from June 5 to 9, 2023, was attended by an impressive 129 children who actively participated in numerous activities and received valuable training.
Expressing their gratitude, the Greenville Police Department took to Facebook to thank the generous community for their support and donations, which made the Kids Camp possible. The department stated, "Thank you to our gracious community who have supported and donated to make this happen for these kiddos. We are grateful we get to be an active part of our community and build relationships with kids."
Throughout the week, the camp provided children with a comprehensive curriculum, covering essential safety topics such as First Aid/CPR training, Crime Scene Investigation, Drug & Alcohol Awareness, Anti-bullying, Internet Safety, Gun Safety, and Mental Health Awareness. By addressing these critical issues, the camp aimed to empower children with knowledge and equip them with the skills to make safe and responsible choices.

In addition to the educational sessions, the Kids Camp also organized a variety of exciting activities to engage the children and promote team-building. The schedule included a Scavenger Hunt, a Less Lethal/Taser Demonstration, as well as K-9 and TAC (Tactical) demonstrations. These interactive experiences provided the children with firsthand exposure to the vital work carried out by law enforcement officials.
Team-building activities were also a key component of the camp. The children participated in games such as Hula Hoop/Numbers, Gaga Ball, 9 Square, Kickball, and Dodgeball. These activities not only fostered teamwork and cooperation but also allowed the children to have fun and create lasting memories.
The success of the Kids Camp highlights the importance of community support and collaboration in promoting a safe and secure environment for children. The Greenville Police Department is already looking forward to future events and endeavors that will further strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the community they protect.
