Two Sex Offenders Sentenced to a Total of 85 Years Following Investigations by Mt. Vernon Police

In a significant victory for justice and community safety, two convicted sex offenders, Jeremiah Jamal James and Charles Maull, were sentenced to a combined total of 85 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The sentences were handed down on June 23, 2023, following separate investigations conducted by the Mt. Vernon Police Department (MVPD) Criminal Investigators.

Franklin County Sheriff Ricky Jones expressed gratitude and commendation to the dedicated law enforcement officers involved in bringing these offenders to justice. He specifically thanked Lt. Leah Thomas, Sergeant Jason Knox, and all the officers of the MVPD for their relentless efforts throughout the investigations.

The sentencing of James and Maull represents a significant milestone in the ongoing fight against sexual offenses in Franklin County. The judgment ensures that these dangerous individuals will be removed from the community, preventing them from causing further harm and ensuring the continued safety of the citizens of Mount Vernon and Franklin County.
