Multiple emergency responders were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of County Road 543 and County Road 593 near Nevada, Texas this morning at around 9:47 am.
According to authorities, a van was traveling eastbound on County Road 543, while an SUV was traveling northbound on County Road 593. The driver of the SUV failed to stop at the stop sign where the county roads intersect, resulting in a collision. The impact of the crash caused the van to spin around and strike two construction workers.
Tragically, one of the construction workers, a 35-year-old man from Dallas, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the SUV, identified as a 66-year-old woman from Tawakoni, was also pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to a Plano hospital for treatment.
Additionally, the driver of the van was also transported to a Plano hospital.
Fortunately, the second construction worker did not sustain serious injuries in the incident.
