The Anna Police Department has been notified by private contractor Sinacola about a major construction project that will affect the community. The project, commissioned by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as part of the US 75 widening effort, will commence on August 12, 2024.
Details of the Project:
- Closure: Mantua Bridge
- Duration: August 12, 2024 – February 2025
- Impact: Inaccessibility to Highway 75 from County Road 371 (CR 371)
During the construction period, residents will need to use County Line Road or Rosamond Parkway to reach US 75. CR 371 will be closed at the intersection with CR 373, directing traffic north on CR 373. Drivers will then have the option to either loop back to Highway 5 or take CR 375 to reach Highway 75.
Key Impacts:
- School Traffic: Joe K Bryant Elementary, located off CR 371, will face increased congestion as residents will be rerouted through CR 373 and CR 375, or back to Highway 5.
- Increased Traffic: Higher traffic volumes are expected on Rosamond Parkway, the service road south of Mantua, Highway 5, and County Line Road during peak commute times.
Residents are advised to plan for extended travel times, particularly during school pick-up and drop-off periods, and to anticipate increased traffic in the affected areas.
